SQL Database Engineer – Databricks / AWS (Contract)

We’re looking for a SQL Database Engineer with strong expertise in AWS and Databricks to help us restructure and optimise our clients database environment. A key part of this role will be separating SQL databases, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability as we modernise our data landscape.

Lead the separation and migration of SQL databases to support growth and scalability
Design and implement cloud-based database solutions using AWS (RDS, Aurora, S3, Glue)
Build and optimise ETL/ELT pipelines with Databricks to connect systems and improve data flows
Ensure database security, governance, and compliance are embedded in all solutions
Work closely with engineering, product, and analytics teams to meet business data needs

Strong experience with SQL Server / relational databases, including design, optimisation, and administration
Proven track record of database separation, migration, and consolidation projects
Hands-on experience with AWS data services and Databricks for pipeline development
Solid understanding of data architecture, performance tuning, and best practices
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to deliver in complex data environments
Excellent communication skills

Experience must include SQL, AWS and Databricks to be successful in securing this contract.
