We're seeking a dynamic Project Portfolio Manager to oversee and manage PMO and Project Delivery for a fast-growing finance/professional services company in North London. As the Project Portfolio Manager, you'll play a crucial role in defining and implementing project management standards, processes, and methodologies. 

This role sits in a tech department that will grow exponentially in the next 2-4 years. You'll have the chance to play a major role across the business, with influence right up to an exec level. The role is a mix of both hands-on delivery/project management while also setting up a basic PMO/Governance framework. Being able to demonstrate experience in both areas will be cruical. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with project managers and teams to ensure alignment with organisational goals.
  • Monitor project performance and provide guidance on tracking metrics.
  • Manage risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies (RAID), and reporting to senior management.
  • Champion an organisation-wide standard framework for project delivery.
  • Establish project reporting and control processes.
  • Provide visibility and documentation for Change Board (CB) activities.
  • Manage the overall project pipeline and facilitate Change Board meetings.
  • Assist with resource planning and closing capability gaps.
  • Create portfolio-level status reports and dashboards.
  • Coach project teams on risk and issue management (RAID).
  • Support projects in maintaining benefits throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Champion project standards, guidance, and tools across the organisation.

Ideal Candidate Experience:

  • P3O Practitioner Qualification.
  • MSP and/or PMQ and/or PRINCE2/Agile Practitioner certification.
  • Demonstrable experience managing a project portfolio.
  • Experience with traditional and agile project delivery methodologies.
  • Strong data analysis (nice to have) and presentation skills.
  • Experience with RAID management and Planning workshops.
  • Familiarity with Change Approval Boards.
  • Ability to report to executive-level boards.
  • Experience with Training Needs Analysis and training material production.

Nice to Have:

  • Track record in Finance, Accounting or Professional Services.
  • Project experience including Mergers and Acquisition.
