The required skills:

•IBM iSeries platform and architecture.

•RPG development practices, including source control, release management

•iSeries modernisation strategies, with evidence of working within a modernisation programme.

•Java development on the iSeries, including the standard Eclipse development toolset.

•Knowledge of integration of iSeries processes into modern, event driven architectures. 

•Understanding of transactional and master data systems.

•Understanding of the implications of technical debt management and strategies to minimise the risk of legacy solutions.

•Understanding of the principles of product management and a hybrid development / support model

•Team management / leadership
